Law
Societies are the self-governing bodies of lawyers in their jurisdiction.
Their principal duty is to serve and protect the public interest. They
set and enforce standards of professional conduct for lawyers.
Any one who
has a serious complaint about the conduct of a lawyer can file a complaint
with the Law Society.

organisation is comprised of the 14 Law Societies in Canada. One of
its goals is to achieve a consensus on critical legal issues among Canadian
legal associations.
